Licensure Pathways
Traditional 150-Credit Pathway
- •150 semester hours with 30 accounting credits
- •1 year (2,000 hours) of supervised experience
- •Preserved alongside the new experience-based pathway
120-Credit + Experience Pathway
Effective: July 1, 2026
- •Bachelor's degree with accounting concentration
- •2 years of accounting experience (alternative to 150 SH)
- •A 1-year experience option also exists when paired with additional educational requirements
- •Replaced "substantial equivalency" with explicit licensure criteria
- •Signed by Gov. Laura Kelly on April 9, 2026; effective July 1, 2026
