Surgent's CPA Course Now Runs Through UWorld

Surgent's CPA exam review page now sells UWorld packages at $1,999, $2,299, and $2,899. Here is what the page says about existing students, what stays on the Surgent platform, and what it means if you are choosing a CPA course.

What the Surgent Page Says Now

On October 1 I opened Surgent's CPA page to confirm a price for this site, and the page is headed "CPA Exam Review, Now Through UWorld." Surgent's own wording is that it "is now part of UWorld," and the three packages you can buy there are UWorld's courses, none of which matches the Surgent tiers I had on file. I re-read the page on October 7 and it still says the same thing.

How the Deal Got Here

UWorld announced on April 30, 2026 that it had acquired Surgent Accounting & Financial Education, and the draw it pointed to was Surgent's library of continuing professional education courses, which sits alongside UWorld's CPA, CMA, and CFA exam reviews. The April announcement promised no disruption, and UWorld's page on the deal says Surgent's product lineup "will remain the same at this time." For the CPA course that line has since stopped holding. By our records the switch landed between August 31, when I last confirmed Surgent's own CPA prices, and October 1.

The Packages and Prices

$1,999 gets you Premier, which the page shows against a struck-through $3,499, so $1,500 off. Elite-Unlimited sits at $2,299 against $3,899, which is $1,600 off, and Elite-Unlimited+ is $2,899 against $4,699, a $1,800 difference. The struck-through numbers are the page's own list prices.
  • Premier: $1,999 (list $3,499)
  • Elite-Unlimited: $2,299 (list $3,899)
  • Elite-Unlimited+: $2,899 (list $4,699)

If You Already Bought a Surgent CPA Course

What happens if you already bought one? The page's FAQ says your access details "are being communicated separately" and points you to Surgent Support with questions about your current course. It doesn't say when that communication arrives or whether your study platform changes, so if you're mid-course, don't guess about either one and ask support directly.

What Stays on Surgent

The Surgent name isn't going away entirely. The same FAQ says Surgent EA Review, Surgent Income Tax School, and Surgent CPE remain active on the Surgent platform, which is a slightly odd arrangement for a brand whose CPA course now lives somewhere else.

What Changed on the Price Ladder

Three numbers used to sit on that page: $799, $1,299, and $1,699, the tiers I last confirmed on August 31. None of them is sold there now, and the lowest package is $1,999, which is $1,200 more than the old entry price.

What This Means If You're Choosing a Course

Check your email if you bought a Surgent CPA course, and price the UWorld packages on UWorld's own site before you buy through any other page, because providers don't always keep their pages in step with each other. Life would be easier if every provider kept one price page. This week I found two Becker pages quoting different question counts, which is a smaller version of the same problem. That means the number on the page you landed on is a starting point for your own check. If you want the two biggest names side by side, our Becker vs UWorld comparison is the place to start. Atlas no longer lists Surgent as its own course, and the old Surgent review address now redirects to our UWorld review.
