UWorld CPA Cost: 2026 Pricing Breakdown

UWorld is one of the more affordable mid-tier CPA review options, with all three packages running $1,000 to $1,500 less than equivalent Becker tiers. A walkthrough of the three packages and where the savings come from.

Published May 27, 20266 min read
UWorld is a common mid-tier alternative to Becker, with detailed answer explanations and Roger Philipp's lecture style as the main features candidates cite when comparing the two. It also costs roughly $1,000 less than Becker at equivalent feature tiers. In 2026 UWorld runs from $1,999 for the entry-level Premier package up to $2,899 for the top-tier Elite-Unlimited+, with a promotional discount of $1,500 to $1,600 off list price across all three tiers.
Unlike Becker's promotions, which run in dated windows (the Labor Day Sale runs 8/18 through 9/8, with an extension scheduled through 9/14), UWorld's discount is displayed with a short countdown that tends to reset weekly. In practice the $1,500 to $1,600 off pricing has remained available year-round across rotating "Sale Ends [Day]" framings. That changes the timing math. Becker publishes real end dates and does eventually return to MSRP between promotional runs, while UWorld lets candidates take time to evaluate without typically losing the discount.

The three UWorld packages

UWorld offers a simpler tier structure than Becker, with three packages that differ primarily on access duration and the inclusion of discipline-section coverage:
The Premier package at $1,999 is the most common choice for candidates who have already selected their discipline section. Elite-Unlimited+ at $2,899 is for candidates who are still evaluating which discipline to take or who want the Pass Guarantee.
  • Premier at $1,999 (list $3,499): 18 months of access, covers three core sections plus one discipline section, includes 9,000+ MCQs, 500+ TBS, 1,400+ video lectures, eBooks, and SmartPath adaptive technology.
  • Elite-Unlimited at $2,299 (list $3,899): unlimited access, same content coverage as Premier, adds Live Boot Camps and printed textbooks.
  • Elite-Unlimited+ at $2,899 (list $4,099): unlimited access, covers all six sections including all three discipline options (BAR, TCP, and ISC), includes a $1,000 Pass Guarantee ($250 per section), StudyPass, and six printed textbooks plus eBooks.

What makes UWorld worth the mid-tier price

The strongest argument for UWorld at this price point is the answer explanation depth. UWorld writes the longest and most pedagogically thorough rationales of any major CPA review provider. For every wrong answer, the explanation walks through why a candidate would have selected it and what concept they need to re-anchor before moving on. For visual learners and candidates who learn through detailed problem-walking, this is the strongest pedagogical feature in the category.
The second argument is the lecture style. Roger Philipp, whose course UWorld absorbed in the 2021-2023 consolidation of Roger CPA Review and Wiley CPAexcel, is widely considered the most engaging lecturer in the category. Candidates who have struggled to stay focused through Becker's structured lectures often find UWorld's videos easier to absorb. The platform itself is well-designed, the mobile app is the best of the major providers, and offline access works reliably for candidates studying during commutes.

How UWorld compares to Becker on price

Direct dollar-for-dollar comparison between the two providers at equivalent tier levels in 2026 (Becker prices reflect the August 2026 promotional pricing):
For candidates choosing between mid-tier UWorld and Becker, the trade-off is feature-for-feature more than price-for-price. UWorld is better for candidates who want depth in explanations and a lighter touch on instructor structure. Becker is better for candidates who specifically need the daily live classes and the brand signal for Big 4 employers.
  • UWorld Premier ($1,999) vs Becker Advantage ($2,499): UWorld is $500 cheaper and includes 24 months of access (Becker) vs 18 months (UWorld), so the access trade-off slightly favors Becker.
  • UWorld Elite-Unlimited ($2,299) vs Becker Pro on the August promo ($2,499): UWorld is $200 cheaper. Becker adds daily LiveOnline classes and a $1,000 Pass Guarantee that UWorld at this tier does not include. UWorld adds the answer-explanation depth that Becker does not match.
  • UWorld Elite-Unlimited+ ($2,899) vs Becker Pro+ on the August promo ($2,698): Becker is $201 cheaper while the promotion runs, and both tiers include a $1,000 Pass Guarantee. UWorld includes all six section materials. Note that this one reverses when Becker returns to MSRP, where Pro+ at $4,044 is $1,145 more than UWorld.

Costs UWorld does not include

Like every CPA review course, UWorld covers only the review materials. The CPA exam fees themselves are paid to NASBA and your state board, adding roughly $1,500 to $1,800 across the four sections (or $2,200 to $2,500 if you include the six-section coverage in UWorld Elite-Unlimited+). Payment options and discounts

UWorld accepts payment in full at checkout or through third-party financing. A 10 percent military discount is available for active-duty service members, reserves, and veterans by contacting UWorld support before purchase. A Fresh Start discount (effectively a transfer credit) is available for candidates who switch from another provider after having spent $1,000 or more on a competing course, with verification required. Employer reimbursement is the most common path to reducing UWorld's cost, with most large public accounting firms covering UWorld in full for incoming staff who request it.

When UWorld is the right call

UWorld is the strongest pick for self-pay candidates who learn primarily by working problems and reading detailed answer explanations, and who do not require the structure of daily live classes. The Premier package at $1,999 is the best value in UWorld's lineup, and the platform is competitive on cost-per-feature against any provider in the category. For candidates whose employer is paying or who target Big 4 firms, Becker is still typically the right choice for institutional reasons. For candidates on a tight budget, NINJA at $67 per month remains the cheapest reliable option. UWorld is the middle path that captures most self-pay candidates who want quality without paying for Becker.
